Cancer Services provides patient support and many other services for cancer patients and their families and caregivers.

You can sign up monthly to get matched with a local volunteer who will cook and deliver a free lasagna to your home. 


There is a volunteer in the Winston Salem area, but there is a couple months wait at this time.

Meals on Wheels

Mom's Meals provides home-delivered, medically tailored meals designed by registered dietitians and professional chefs. 


Some insurance companies (Medicaid or Medicare Advantage) may cover home meal delivery. Otherwise, out-of-pocket meal cost is $7.99/meal.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels in Forsyth County provides services like nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks.


Other services include  pet food delivery for clients' pets, home repair services, telephone reassurance and transportation services for doctor appointments and other needs.


Generally programs serve adults 60 and over, although age requirements can vary by program and areas served. 


Depending on individual circumstances, meals may be provided along a sliding fee scale, from no cost to full price. 

While no senior will be denied a meal because of an inability to pay, he/she may be asked to contribute voluntarily toward the cost of a meal.

Shepherd's Center Faith in Action Care Program

Services include home repairs, transportation, grocery shopping, minor home repairs, friendly visits, and respite breaks for caregivers.


Services are available regardless of income to anyone age 60 or above who lives in Forsyth County, with the exception of residents in and surrounding Kernersville who are served by The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville.

In home care services for seniors living in Forsyth County.


Limited funding is available for seniors needing financial assistance for care. 


Payment options include the following:

  • Private insurance (long-term care)
  • Veterans Administration (VA) benefits. Learn more here.

  • Private pay (with a minimum of a two-hour visit once a week)

Forsyth County Adult In-Home Services

Forsyth County Adult In-Home Services

Adult In-Home Services provides assessment, counseling, case management, and supportive services to older adults (age 60 years and older) and adults (age 18 years and older) with disabilities and their families. 


The goal is to assist individuals in remaining safely in the home and functioning as independently as possible.

Adult In-Home Services social workers work closely with other Forsyth County agencies to coordinate and monitor services for older adult clients, including:

  • Adult Day Care/Adult Day Health
  • Meals-on-Wheels
  • In-Home Aide


In-Home Aide Services include basic housekeeping, laundry, light meal preparation, bill paying, and transportation for medical appointments and essential errands. 


Due to the demand for In-Home aide Services, you may have to wait on a waitlist.
